Brussels, June 22 (LaPresse) – “A very brief conversation was held on the nuclear issue, but no details were discussed and it cannot be said that negotiations on the matter have begun.” This was stated by the spokesperson for Iranian Foreign Minister Esmail Baghaei in an interview with the Irna news agency on the sidelines of talks in Switzerland. “The American delegation,” he explained, “briefly outlined its position on the nuclear issue during part of its remarks. The delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran also presented its position. This was not a negotiation, but simply an expression of positions, and the viewpoint of the Islamic Republic of Iran was also expressed clearly and explicitly.” The spokesperson said that Tehran “stressed that the time has not yet come to begin negotiations for a final agreement. According to the memorandum of understanding, it was decided that negotiations for a final agreement would begin after the implementation of certain parts of it,” and reported that Minister Araghchi “warned the other side against repeating excessive and irrational positions on the nuclear issue and outlined the position of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
