Milan, 23 June (LaPresse) – “I am delighted to announce the release of Domenico Centrone and Leonarda Alberizia, the two Italian activists from the Flotilla who had been detained in Libya for a month. Matias Alvarez Rodriguez, a Uruguayan with Italian citizenship, whom we have been monitoring and assisting over the past few days, has also been entrusted to the care of our Consul in Benghazi.” Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani wrote this on X. “Thanks to intensive diplomatic efforts, coordinated between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Palazzo Chigi, they will finally return to Italy tomorrow,” Tajani added. “I would like to thank the staff at the Farnesina and our intelligence services for their excellent work,” he concluded.
