Rome, 24 June (LaPresse) – Regarding relations between Italy and the US, “I will be at Villa Taverna on 2 July, as announced. We have no intention of escalating the dispute; we are carrying on as normal. For us, transatlantic relations are fundamental; our relationship with the United States is a historic one, and we will continue to work together”. This was stated by the Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, from Foggia, where he took part in the celebrations marking the 252nd anniversary of the founding of the Guardia di Finanza. “We also have a mission in the United States to deal with raw materials, because it is also important to create an alternative to China’s hegemony,” he added. “We continue to work and maintain excellent relations. However, on certain issues, when we need to point out what is wrong, we do so. We are allies but not subject to decisions imposed upon us. We always hold our heads high and stand tall,” he concluded.
