Milan, 25 June (LaPresse) – ” Our relationship with Italy continues unhindered at every level, both militarily and in other areas”, but “obviously the President” Donald Trump “is very angry. He feels that not only Italy, but also other countries, at a time when we were facing a threat – not just us but Europe in particular – many European countries did not step up to do enough; Italy, unfortunately, is among them”. This was stated by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio whilst speaking to journalists in Bahrain. “We need to work on this, but Trump’s view is clear and should come as no surprise to anyone; he said as much again yesterday, and I am sure these issues will also come up at the NATO summit in a couple of weeks’ time,” Rubio added.
