Rome, 26 June (LaPresse) – The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has rejected the positions set out in the joint statement by the United States and the Gulf Cooperation Council, emphasising that Iran considers them “irresponsible and provocative”. This was reported by the Mehr news agency. The ministry rejected Washington’s claim of a “constant commitment to the security of GCC member states”, describing it as “nothing more than rhetoric and a distortion of reality”, and arguing that the US military presence in the region has instead become “a burden on the region’s populations and a source of insecurity and division”.
