Rome, 26 June (LaPresse) – The Italian Government “welcomes” the announcement of a framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel, brokered by the United States. This is stated in a note from Palazzo Chigi, which emphasises that it is “essential to consolidate the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel and create the conditions for a lasting peace between these two nations, ensuring Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and Israel’s security”. Italy, “which has long been committed to these objectives, will continue to play its part, in close coordination with partners and allies”, the statement concludes.
