Frankfurt (Germany), June 29 (LaPresse) – “According to the information gathered so far, the motive appears to be linked to a child custody dispute.” This was stated by Kathrin Schuol of the Lüneburg Police Department regarding the shooting in Stade, Lower Saxony, in which six people were killed. “The perpetrator had an appointment today together with many of the victims to discuss the future custody of his three-month-old daughter, who was in the facility with her mother at the time of the incident. Both were unharmed and are not among the six victims,” Schuol further explained, adding that “the child has been taken into the care of the competent authorities, while the mother is currently in police custody and is being questioned.” The suspect is the child’s father. A custody hearing had been scheduled for today. The mother and daughter were staying in a home for mothers and children, also run by the Hanover Youth Welfare Office. Two other women are currently under police investigation and are being questioned. According to the police, one of them is the child’s 34-year-old mother. The woman who was driving the car is also being questioned by the police.
