Damascus (Syria), July 3 (LaPresse/AP) – The death toll has risen to 10 following a bomb explosion that occurred yesterday in a bar in central Damascus. A funeral procession was held today in the Midan district, where the coffins of three of the victims were carried. Another 21 people were injured in the explosion. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but many have quickly blamed supporters of former president Bashar al-Assad, who was ousted in December 2024 following a rebel offensive. During the funeral procession, some mourners chanted: “The people want the remnants of the former regime to be executed.”
