As a responsible power and guarantor of the Strait’s security, Iran warns against any military manoeuvres in this sensitive waterway. Security in the Strait is the responsibility of the coastal states; whoever provokes a crisis will be held responsible for the consequences of their actions – this warning is serious.” This was the warning issued by Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi on X in response to yesterday’s joint statement by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron on the Strait of Hormuz.
