Milan, 4 July (LaPresse) – Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke on the phone with his US counterpart Donald Trump to mark the 250th anniversary of US Independence Day. “The presidents naturally touched upon the issue of a solution to the conflict in Ukraine, not least in light of Donald Trump’s forthcoming participation in the NATO summit in Turkey on 7–8 July,” said the Russian president’s adviser, Yuri Ushakov, as reported by the Tass news agency. “The US President reiterated his willingness to facilitate a swift cessation of hostilities and the search for peaceful solutions to resolve the crisis,” added Ushakov.
