Rome, 10 July (LaPresse) – Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was buried in the early hours of today at the Imam Reza Shrine in Mashhad. The former Supreme Leader was killed in the early days of the Israeli-American attacks on Iran on 28 February. The funeral procession was led by Mustafa, Khamenei’s eldest son, whilst his successor, Mojtaba, was not present.
