Madrid (Spain), 10 July (LaPresse) – According to data from the Daily Mortality Monitoring System (MoMo) of the Carlos III Health Institute, 463 people in Spain died from causes linked to high temperatures during the second heatwave, which lasted from Sunday to Thursday. Yesterday was the deadliest day, with 138 fatalities. The figure also includes people with pre-existing conditions whose health was exacerbated by the extreme heat. In June, over a thousand people died as a result of the high temperatures.
