Milan, 11 July (LaPresse) – “We expect our partners to honour their promises regarding the support packages agreed at the NATO summit to help protect our people. We must move as quickly as possible on the licence agreements for the Patriot systems and on the joint European ballistic defence project. At present, the top priority for all our institutions is to ensure that this happens.” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote this on X following the latest Russian attacks that struck Ukraine overnight. “Eleven people, including a child, were injured in Kyiv during last night’s Russian attack. Civilian infrastructure was hit even before the air-raid alert was issued. Rescue teams are working at the sites affected: in the capital, apartment blocks, offices and a theological seminary have been damaged. Rescue operations are also underway in the regions of Odessa, Sumy, Kharkiv and Chernihiv,” wrote Zelensky, emphasising that “overnight, Russia launched more than 120 drones and 12 missiles, half of which were ballistic” and “our soldiers managed to shoot down most of the targets, but not the ballistic ones”.
