Lebanon-Israel: media report final day of talks concludes in Rome

Turin, 15 July (LaPresse) – The second and final day of talks between the Israeli and Lebanese delegations, mediated by the United States, has concluded in Rome. This was reported by the Lebanese news agency NNA. According to the Beirut-based television channel Al Jadeed, as quoted by the Times of Israel, the parties discussed ways of verifying that the ‘pilot zones’ under the control of the Lebanese army are free of weapons and Hezbollah fighters. A third party will verify the disarmament. No final decision has yet been taken, although the possibility of United Nations intervention has been mooted.
