Brussels, July 16 (LaPresse) – At least 11 people have died and another 19 were injured in a fire—reportedly still ongoing—at an orphanage on the outskirts of Algiers. The Algerian Civil Protection agency reported the news without specifying the ages of the victims. “Civil Protection services are continuing operations to extinguish the fire that broke out at the Foundation for Assisted Childhood, located in the municipality of Mohammadia,” a statement reads. “The provisional death toll stands at 11,” it was reported.
