Milan, 20 July (LaPresse) – “I am acutely aware that I am the sixth person in the last ten years to take this path, the seventh Prime Minister since 2016, which makes this a time for reflection and new resolve.” This is what Andy Burnham said in his first speech as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. “My generation of politicians must raise the bar and commit to tackling this new challenge,” he added. “The UK must show the world that we can regain our stability, and this is our challenge: to make politics work, to make it work better. I know that people back home are fed up with politics. We haven’t been good enough, and we must do better.”
