Turin, 22 July (LaPresse) – A 33-year-old Italian national, Francesco Forzieri, has been found dead in Ibiza. This has been confirmed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The man was working in Ibiza as a waiter. The Italian Consulate-General in Barcelona is monitoring the case and is in contact with the family and the local authorities who are conducting the investigation. According to *Diario de Ibiza*, the 33-year-old’s body was found in the early hours of Monday on one of the jetties in the Es Borafoc area of Ibiza harbour. Investigators, as quoted by the newspaper, believe the man may have died as a result of accidental drowning. The man, originally from Lucera, was living in San Benedetto del Tronto. According to sources close to the case, which is being investigated by the Civil Guard and the police, the drowning is believed to have occurred during the night between Sunday 19 July and Monday 20 July, whilst celebrations were taking place to mark Spain’s World Cup victory. The body was found at 4.30 am. According to the local police, as reported by *Periodico de Ibiza*, all the evidence suggests that the 33-year-old drowned, although it is unclear how he ended up in the sea. “The incident is under investigation and no further information will be available until the results of the post-mortem examination are published,” the authorities said.
