Milan, 24 July (LaPresse) – US Central Command (Centcom) has announced that it has concluded its 13th consecutive night of strikes against Iran. The US military reported that it had “targeted” in Iran “Iranian military command centres, drone storage facilities, communications networks, coastal surveillance sites and maritime capabilities”. The stated objective, as in previous days, is to “further reduce the threat that Iran poses to civilian mariners and commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz” . A few hours after Centcom had declared its wave of attacks over, Bahrain activated its air-raid sirens, warning residents to take shelter from the bombardment. Tehran claimed to have targeted US military bases in both Bahrain and Jordan with drones; the Iranian military reported that it had struck, using drones, fuel storage facilities, equipment depots and US military accommodation at Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain, as well as aircraft shelters, maintenance hangars and US military accommodation at Azraq Air Base in Jordan.
