Milan, 25 July (LaPresse) – A man has died today in a fire that broke out in the Salt de l’Aigua ravine, in the town of Manises, near Valencia. The town council confirmed this, adding that it had declared two days of official mourning for tomorrow and Monday. According to various sources cited by local media, the victim, an elderly man, had apparently attempted to cross the ravine in his car, which was found burnt out. The fire, which mainly devastated the scrubland and produced a thick plume of smoke visible from Valencia 14 kilometres away, has been declared under control. Cadena Ser also reports that five people were injured due to smoke inhalation and burns and were taken to Manises Hospital.
