Milan, 27 July (LaPresse) – Explosions were heard overnight in the city of Rostov-on-Don, in southern Russia, according to reports from the Telegram channel Exilenova Plus. The city’s mayor, Alexander Skryabin, confirmed the Ukrainian attacks, stating that a residential building had been damaged as a result of a Ukrainian strike. The governor of the Rostov Oblast, Yuri Slyusar, reported that two people had died and a further five had been injured in the city, adding that warehouses and several homes had been set alight following the attacks. “In Rostov-on-Don, two people – a married couple – have died. Five people have been injured, two of whom are in a serious condition, including a teenager,” Slyusar said, as reported by the Kiev Independent. “Windows have been shattered in several homes, as well as on the upper floors of a block of flats and a community centre,” he added. According to reports from the independent Russian news agency Astra, smoke was rising above the port of Rostov-on-Don, located near a damaged residential building.
