Madrid (Spain), 27 July (LaPresse) – In Spain, firefighters continue to battle the blazes that are consuming thousands of hectares across various parts of the country. Over 90,000 people remain evacuated or confined in Madrid, Ávila and Toledo. The fire in Ávila is the largest ever recorded in the country’s recent history and, together with the one in the Community of Madrid, has devastated over 77,000 hectares. The other active fire is currently in Vall d’Uixò, in Castellón, in the Valencia region. Here, the flames have burnt around 6,500 hectares and 16,000 people have been evacuated, according to RTVE. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez is due to visit the areas affected by this fire later this morning.
