Turin, 1 August (LaPresse) – An off-duty Israeli soldier was arrested yesterday on suspicion of opening fire in the village of al-Mughayyir, in the West Bank, injuring a child. This was reported by the military. Footage of the incident shows a mother and her three young children trying to flee to safety whilst gunshots ring out in the distance. One of the children, aged 10, is clutching his arm after apparently being hit. The Israeli Defence Forces state that they received a report yesterday concerning a Palestinian child wounded by gunfire in al-Mughayyir and that, a short while ago, police officers detained an active-duty army soldier on suspicion of involvement in the incident. The army adds that the police also confiscated his weapon.
