Ceuta, Spanish government updates death toll: number of deceased migrants rises to 72

Madrid, Aug. 2 (LaPresse) – Spanish state security forces have confirmed that around 73,500 migrants have already left Ceuta and returned to Morocco. Meanwhile, authorities continue to recover the bodies of migrants who died while attempting to swim to the Spanish city. According to data provided by the government delegation in Ceuta, the death toll has risen to 72 this Sunday, although other figures, such as those from the Unified Association of Civil Guards, already put the number of fatalities at over one hundred.
