Tel Aviv (Israel), 2 August (LaPresse/AP) – Israel has expressed “serious security concerns” to the White House regarding the disarmament agreement with Hamas. An Israeli official told the Associated Press this, in one of the first public comments since US President Donald Trump announced the agreement earlier this week. Doron Spielman, a spokesperson for the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, told the AP that, according to Israeli intelligence assessments, Hamas remains determined to rebuild its military capabilities rather than genuinely demilitarise. He added that the Israeli army will not withdraw from Gaza, where it controls over 60 per cent of the territory, until Hamas has completed its disarmament
