Kyiv, Aug. 5 (LaPresse) – Fifteen people have been killed and another 51 injured in a massive Russian attack with ballistic missiles and drones on the Ukrainian capital and the Kyiv region. The Kyiv Independent reports this, citing local authorities. In the Kyiv region, 14 people were killed and another 27 injured, according to the State Emergency Service, while rescue operations are still underway. Damage was reported in the districts of Brovary, Bucha and Fastiv, with warehouses and vehicles on fire after the Russian attack. One person was killed and 24 injured in the capital, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, who added that 15 of the injured were hospitalized, four of them in critical condition. According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, damage was recorded in more than seven locations across the city, including the Holosiivskyi, Obolonskyi, Desnianskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts. In the Obolonskyi district, a fire broke out in a 20-story residential building after it was hit by a missile. Another residential building also caught fire, while fires were reported at two warehouses. In the Desnianskyi district, Klitschko said, a warehouse caught fire and missile debris fell near a residential building. Authorities also reported a large fire in the Kyiv-Sviatoshynskyi district on the outskirts of the capital.
