Milan, 10 Aug. (LaPresse) – The mayor of Pereira, Mauricio Salazar, told Radio Caracol that 18 people had died in the magnitude 7.4 earthquake that struck Colombia. Dozens of buildings have also suffered serious damage, including Matecaña Airport, where three people lost their lives. A Unified Command Centre (PMU) has been set up in the department, and serious damage has been reported in Pereira and neighbouring municipalities such as Dosquebradas.
