Colombia earthquake: curfew imposed in Cali and Pereira to prevent looting

(LaPresse) – The mayors of the Colombian cities of Pereira and Cali, Mauricio Salazar and Alejandro Eder respectively, have imposed a curfew in the two cities to prevent looting and facilitate rescue operations following the powerful 7.4-magnitude earthquake that struck the country. This was reported by El País. In Pereira, the mayor has also closed schools “until further notice” as several school buildings were damaged by the earthquake.
