Rome, 11 Aug. (LaPresse) – At least five people were killed and 21 injured in Russian attacks on Zaporizhzhia and Kyiv overnight. This was reported by The Kyiv Independent. Five people were killed and 20 injured in Zaporizhzhia, whilst one person was injured in Kyiv. “We heard about 10 explosions; I think they were ballistic missiles,” said a Kyiv Independent reporter in Zaporizhzhia at the time of the attack. The governor of Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Ivan Fedorov, confirmed that Russian forces had targeted the regional centre with ballistic missiles and guided aerial bombs. The attack damaged homes and other buildings and caused fires and power cuts, he said. Early in the evening, Kyiv’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, warned residents that the capital was under attack and urged people to seek shelter.
