France: Constitutional Court overturns social media ban for under-15s

Milan, 14 August (LaPresse) – The French Constitutional Council has rejected the ban on access to social media for children under the age of 15, ruling that it constitutes a “disproportionate restriction” on freedom of expression. Called upon to rule solely on Article 1 of the law in question, the members of the Constitutional Council did not, however, comment on the ban on mobile phone use in secondary schools, which is provided for in the same text.
