Rome, 18 August (LaPresse) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated in a declaration reported by local media that Tehran has informed the mediators that it “will not accept a ceasefire”, but instead wants “a definitive end to the war”. Araqchi noted that Qatar and Pakistan have played a “crucial role” in mediating between Iran and the United States, explaining that relations between Tehran and Doha are currently at a “very positive” stage. Finally, the Iranian Foreign Minister made it clear that the new approach to security in the region must be based on the concept of “collective security”.
