Islamabad (Pakistan), Aug. 25 (LaPresse) – Pakistan and Iran are discussing the restoration of an Islamabad Memorandum previously signed between Iran and the United States to help resolve the ongoing conflict. Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi wrote on X that he had a “very positive and productive meeting with the Iranian President together with the Chief of Army Staff of the Pakistani Armed Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir.” Naqvi added that their discussion “focused on the Iran-US conflict, tensions in the Middle East and the way forward, as well as the steps required from both sides to restore the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, which would thus lead to a comprehensive solution to the conflict.” Naqvi said that “the Iranian President openly shared the perspective and concerns of his Government, and we had a very constructive exchange on the issues at hand. Significant progress was made.” Naqvi expressed “the hope that this momentum will help pave the way for further progress and lasting peace in the region.”
