Washington (USA), Aug. 26 (LaPresse) – The FBI has dismantled a China-linked hacking operation that had infiltrated U.S. government networks and critical infrastructure, concealing its tracks through a global network of compromised devices, cloud computing infrastructure and even clandestine networks. The Wall Street Journal reports this. The operation’s goal was to blend in with legitimate network traffic, making the hacking activity difficult to trace. The hacking group exploited software vulnerabilities to launch cyberattacks against U.S. government agencies, power companies and hospital systems, and operated a worldwide network of compromised devices, known as a botnet, to conduct its hacking campaigns.
