(LaPresse) – The head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), Sergei Naryshkin, has confirmed that he met with CIA Director John Ratcliffe in Moscow and described the meeting as a “working session”, emphasising that there was “nothing out of the ordinary” about it. This was reported by the Russian news agency Interfax. “The meeting took place, but there is nothing unusual about this. In the practice of the special services, meetings between senior officials or face-to-face online discussions are part of our work,” said the head of the SVR. “During the meeting, we discussed a number of issues falling within the remit of the intelligence services. And the remit of the intelligence services, as you are well aware, is a rather sensitive and specific matter,” Naryshkin added whilst speaking to journalists.
