Ukraine, Kyiv: “At least 27 dead and 42 injured in a Russian air raid in the Kyiv region”

Frankfurt (Germany), 29 Aug. (LaPresse) – The death toll from the Russian attack in the Bucha district, in the Kyiv region, which took place late on Friday evening, has risen to at least 27. This was announced by the head of the regional administration, Timur Tkachenko, who noted that the number of victims may not be final. At least 42 people were injured, including four children. Seven of the injured were admitted to hospital, whilst 381 people, including 59 children, were evacuated from the affected area. Meanwhile, search and rescue operations, fire-fighting, the clearing of rubble and inspections of buildings and surrounding areas are continuing. According to local authorities, around 50 residential buildings have sustained damage of varying degrees. An operations centre has also been set up in Dmitrivka to assist the population, provide hot meals and offer psychological support. Taras Didych, the head of the territorial community of Dmitrivka in the Bucha district, was also killed in the attack.
