(LaPresse) – Following the sinking of a passenger ferry off the coast of Girne, Cyprus, “244 people have been involved so far. 237 have been rescued alive. 7 people have lost their lives. We are still unable to reach 23 people.” This was announced by the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Tufan Erhürman, speaking to CNN Türk. “Our search and rescue teams are at work. We are at the crisis centre,” he added.
