Milan, 2 Sept. (LaPresse) – Cuban Army General Raúl Castro is in a critical condition, on a ventilator, apparently following a stroke. This is according to a report in Diario Las Américas. Rumours of his death had been circulating in recent days. Last June, the youngest of the Castro brothers turned 95. In April 2021, an article in the Spanish newspaper ABC revealed that he was suffering from cancer of the oesophagus and rectum. The article also stated that he was suffering from severe liver cirrhosis attributable to excessive alcohol consumption.
