Milan, 2 Sept. (LaPresse) – “I do not rule out the possibility that there may be attempts by the Russian Federation to interfere in the democratic life of European Union countries, by interfering in the free and democratic elections held in our countries”. Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani made these remarks at a press briefing ahead of the informal meeting of foreign ministers in Wicklow, Ireland. “We are not opposed to this in principle, but we need to see whether there is a legal basis for doing so,” added the head of the Italian Foreign Ministry, referring to the request by some countries to confiscate frozen Russian assets and allocate them to Ukraine.
