Madrid (Spain), Sept. 3 (LaPresse) – “The truth is that so far no one has provided the government with evidence that would allow us to conclude that the mass entry into Ceuta was planned or carried out by the Moroccan authorities.” Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said this during his report to the Congress of Deputies on the government’s handling of the crisis in Ceuta. Solid evidence was provided “neither by the European Commission nor by international organizations”, “if solid evidence emerges, we will act accordingly and firmly,” Sanchez continued, stating that Spain has not been afraid to “confront foreign governments” when necessary. “We have heard two Moroccan ministers make unacceptable statements about Ceuta and Melilla, two statements that we obviously rejected and for which we summoned the Moroccan ambassador on August 21,” Sanchez concluded.
