(LaPresse/AP) – US President Donald Trump has appointed Adam Telle as the new acting Secretary of the Army, following the resignation of Dan Driscoll, which came amid widespread rumours of tensions with Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth. Telle is currently Under-Secretary of the Army for Civil Works. However, he spent over 20 years working for Republican senators and at the White House during Trump’s first term, serving as the president’s principal liaison to the Senate, according to an Army biography. “He is a great patriot, respected by all,” Trump wrote in a post on his social media platform Truth. Hegseth also echoed this sentiment on X. “Congratulations to Adam. Strong and extremely intelligent,” he wrote. “He is truly a great patriot and will be an immediate asset to the US Army.”
