Rome, 9 Sep. (LaPresse) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he met in Norway, together with Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store, with the heads of defense companies in partner countries, including Leonardo. “The main theme was the Freyja programme for ballistic missile defence, which can provide Europe with integrated protection against air threats through the joint efforts of Ukraine, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. Together with the heads of FirePoint, Kongsberg, Weibel, Saab, Diehl Defence, Hensoldt, Thales, Safran, Sener and Leonardo, we have agreed on the concrete steps that government leaders and representatives will have to take at the political and institutional levels, and those that will be up to manufacturers and developers on the industrial and technological level. We expect to see the first concrete results,” the Ukrainian leader said on X, later saying he was grateful to Norway for hosting the meeting. “I thank our partners for their willingness to work together. Protecting Europe’s skies is a shared responsibility,” he added.
