Sweden: Social Democratic leaders: ‘We are ready to take on the responsibilities of government’

Rome, 14 Sept. (LaPresse) – “We must wait for the final election results. But my message is clear: we Social Democrats will always be ready to take responsibility for the outcome. It looks as though it will be very close.” So said the leader of the Swedish Social Democrats, Magdalena Andersson, commenting on the progress of the vote count in the general election. This was reported by SVT. “At the moment, we are in the lead. If this situation holds, Sweden will have a new government. But we must wait for the final result,” she added. With 94 per cent of votes counted, according to the Scandinavian broadcaster, the centre-left has a lead of three seats over the centre-right (176 to 173).
