Kyiv (Ukraine), September 14 (LaPresse) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called on Parliament to swiftly impeach Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko, who resigned last week after a corruption investigation engulfed his office. Kravchenko is not under investigation or formally charged, but one of his subordinates is suspected of orchestrating a fraud. The former prosecutor then accused Semen Kryvonos, director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU), of wrongdoing. NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) have rejected the accusations, calling them part of a systematic attack on independent anti-corruption bodies. “There is only one way forward for this Prosecutor General: dismissal from office. This is exactly what I told him,” Zelensky wrote on Telegram.
