Moscow, Sept. 15 (LaPresse) – Russia will be ready to discuss a return to the European gas market if this is beneficial for the country and if it manages to secure the necessary volumes. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said this, commenting on Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini’s remarks about the possibility of purchasing gas from Moscow after the end of the conflict with Ukraine. “This is a commercial matter. If these supplies are beneficial, that is the first point, and if it is possible to reserve the necessary gas volumes for such supplies, because many volumes have already been redirected to alternative destinations,” Peskov told reporters, as reported by Interfax. “If these two circumstances coincide, then it will absolutely be possible to discuss it,” he added.
