(LaPresse) – “We are preparing for the meeting between President Zelensky and President Trump on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, and I believe that this could be one of the main outcomes of that meeting: the achievement of an energy and maritime truce.” This was stated by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrij Sybiha during a press conference in Kyiv alongside his Slovenian counterpart Tone Kajzer, according to Ukrinform. Sybiha emphasised that Kyiv is ready for an energy truce, but currently sees no sign of willingness on the Russian side. “We welcome the efforts of our partners, the efforts of the United States, to bring this about, and we believe that, with the active participation of the United States itself, it is genuinely possible to achieve this objective,” he said, adding that this could simultaneously take the form of an energy truce and a truce in the Black Sea.
