(LaPresse) – The Trump administration has approved visas for a number of senior Iranian officials, including the president and the foreign minister, to attend next week’s high-level meeting of the UN General Assembly in New York. The State Department announced today that it had approved visas for Iran’s “main delegation”, along with essential staff required to attend the UN meetings. The main delegation includes President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, according to US officials speaking to the Associated Press. By contrast, for the second year running, the Trump administration has denied visas to the Palestinian delegation that was due to attend the UN General Assembly.
