Milan, 18 Sept. (LaPresse/AP) – The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, in an interview with the Associated Press a few days before the start of the UN General Assembly, called for international cooperation and the adoption of safeguards for artificial intelligence, which he described as “a universal problem”. To tackle this increasingly serious issue, he said, countries developing AI at “a more advanced level” should exchange information, establish transparency mechanisms, put safeguards in place and “help create what would ideally be a multilateral mechanism to ensure that risks can be avoided”.
