(LaPresse) – The agreement announced between Denmark, the United States and Greenland, which is due to be signed next week to coincide with the United Nations General Assembly, is “a good agreement”. This was stated by Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, as reported by the media in Copenhagen. “It is an agreement that strengthens our common security in the Arctic and the North Atlantic region,” she said, describing it as “positive” also “for NATO and Europe”. Frederiksen went on to point out that the agreement “recognises the sovereignty and territorial integrity” of Denmark and “the right of the Greenlandic people to self-determination”.
