Germany, Merz: “The CDU must change; there are too many unanswered questions”

Frankfurt (Germany), 21 Sept. (LaPresse) – “Fundamental and long-term questions now face the party, the CDU,” said German Chancellor and CDU leader Friedrich Merz, following the party’s defeat in the elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Berlin. “We must discuss and examine in depth where we are, where we want to go and where we cannot remain as we are today,” explained Merz, adding: “We will discuss the party’s work and structure, our programme and the CDU’s profile. To put it bluntly, we no longer have satisfactory answers to too many questions, and we must change that.”
