Rome, September 21 (LaPresse) – The Houthis claimed that Saudi Arabia launched 28 attacks in various areas of Yemen in the past 24 hours. “The Saudi Air Force carried out 28 strikes against the governorates of Taiz, Al-Jawf, and Marib, using F-15 and Typhoon aircraft from Khamis Mushait and Taif air bases,” Yahya Saree, Houthi military spokesman, said in a statement. This month, the Houthis, who already controlled most of Yemen’s populated areas, launched a lightning offensive to seize the country’s entire Red Sea coast, gaining control of the strategic Bab el-Mandab Strait. The Houthis insist that navigation in the strait is open and free, except for Saudi vessels. The Saudi-led coalition fighting the Houthis in Yemen said earlier this week that the Iran-backed group launched a ballistic missile at Riyadh at dawn, after a fire broke out near the Saudi capital’s international airport.
