(LaPresse) – Numerous delegates attending the United Nations General Assembly in New York walked out of the chamber when the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, took to the podium to deliver his speech. The same kind of protest had also taken place last year. “By defending itself, Israel is also defending many of the countries whose delegates have just left this chamber” and “in fact, I want you to know that many of their leaders even thank us in private for eliminating Iran’s nuclear weapons”, “it is hard to imagine a more staggering hypocrisy, but that is precisely the case”. This was stated by the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, speaking from the podium of the UN General Assembly in New York, in a defiant tone after dozens of delegates stood up and walked out of the chamber in protest against him at the start of his speech.
